How to Crop PDF Pages
Cropping removes visible margins or unwanted content around the edges without deleting anything from the actual page content — it just changes the visible boundary.
What cropping doesn't do
Most crop tools don't permanently delete content — they adjust the visible boundary box while the full original content technically remains underneath. That makes cropping usually reversible, unlike something like removing a page outright.
Trimming wide margins
A common reason to crop is a scan with a lot of excess white space, especially when the original was designed for a bigger page than the content needs. Tightening to just the content makes it look intentional on screen.
Consistency across pages
Apply the same crop margins across a whole document rather than cropping page by page, unless individual pages genuinely need different treatment. Most tools let you set one boundary and apply it everywhere at once.
Crop vs. resize
Cropping only trims visible edges, it doesn't change the actual page dimensions the way resizing does. Trying to fit A4 content onto Letter paper? You want a resize, not a crop.
